Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 22,000+ positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. LOOK at those gorgeous royal blue & silver labels ... you won't find ANY better 60 years ago first print - unless factory sealed ... again "only" 60 years upon a time!
- Prior to his work with Buffalo Springfield 16-year-old
Jim Messina led a savage group of fellow surf devotee friends to record
The Dragsters, a 1965 album full of fierce, fiery, and infectious surf rock jammers with just enough sounds from the Hollywood Strip to get your motor running! - .........................................................................
- One of the true lost classics of primitive garage/surf.
- The complete album is a High-Energy recording with background shouting and highlighted by "Yang Bu" being one of the best "Misirlou" rip-offs ever and a prime atmospheric track for one of those off-beat Quentin Tarantino films ... SO... apparently Jim Messina is embarrassed by this stuff, which is pretty funny since it's heads and tails better than his later offerings (aka "Loggins & Messina", hitsville cash-in duo and sad music otherwise)
...................................................................................................................................... As far as Jimmy Messina goes...early in his career - right at the outset, in fact - 16-year-old Jim Messina was a devotee of revved up California surf music, enamored of the music of Dick Dale, the Champs et al.
The Jesters was among his early professional efforts, was a raw surfy garage a-go-go band that included, along with Messina, Bill Beckman and Ron House on shimmering reverb guitars, Jim Sholstedt on bass, and Larry Cundieff on drums. The JESTERS won a lot of local "Battle Of The Bands" competitions in California, where the competition in the field was VERY fierce in 1965 and 1966 - yet Jim Messina & the Jesters were great enough to secure a record deal, yeah, an entire LP for the Audio Fidelity.
-
This clean artifact by far harder to find than the revered Trashmen Lp and equally as solid throughout !
The release of this album was an impressive achievement for a teenager, but sad & unfairly, not much came of the record as the garage & surf bands boom having pretty much ended by the time of its issue.
