Description
1964 THE VERY FIRST TWO KINKS 7" SINGLES VERY RARE
An almost unique opportunity to buy the very two first KINKS singles released in February and April 1964 in the UK. Neither of these singles sold many copies (especially the second one) as they predate the KINKS first real Hit (You Really Got Me) which was not released until August 1964.
PYE 7N.15611 (45.XX.1611-A) Long Tall Sally/ I Took My Baby Home
The Kinks first single. Unique in that the A side was not written by Ray Davies but it is a cover version of the Little Richard classic. The B side is the first ever Ray Davies song released by the group.
PYE 7N.15636 (45.XX.1636-A) You Still Want Me/ You do Something To Me
The Kinks second single. Both sides written by Ray Davies. This single sold very few copies and is probably the rarest U.K. Kinks single. Mint copies can fetch several hundred pounds.
CONDITION.
Both these singles are well used in original sleeves, a bit scruffy with a bit of writing on sleeves. They are not claimed to be in perfect condition but are owned by a true original Kinks fan who bought them new as a teenager in 1960's London and played them on his cheap 1960's record player for many years with all his other Kinks records. The first single seems to have been played quite a lot and has a few marks, the second (rarer) single looks in quite good condition. Real history not museum pieces !!!
Sold as seen from the photos with no guarantee as to precise quality or exact date of pressing.
A unique possibly once in a lifetime opportunity for a KINKS fan.
