Description

Original 1962 6-eye promotional first stereo pressing (CS 8596) of "Carolyn Hester" on Columbia Records featuring Bob Dylan on harmonica; produced by John Hammond. Bruce Langhorne, the man who would inspire Dylan's song "Mr. Tambourine Man" 3 years later, also appears, playing guitar. 
The front cover features the rare "A New Star on Columbia Records" silver sticker adhered at its lower right corner (see scan 4). "Demonstration Not For Sale" is ink stamped in red on the back cover (see scan 5). A timing strip detailing the album's songs appears at the bottom of the back cover.


The 59-year old vinyl record is in very good + condition. "AS 876" is handwritten in white ink on a piece of black tape adhered at the lower left side edge of the front cover (see scan 5). The same letter / number notations are handwritten in black ballpoint ink on the back cover at the upper and lower right corners (see scans 7 and 8). There is a vertical strip of clear tape at the right side edge of the front cover. A light pink surface blemish appears between the stamped words "Demonstration" and "Not" on center of the back cover (see scan 6). Side 1 has a white piece of paper adhered to its label (see scan 1). The Side 2 label is clean. The vinyl has been inserted into a generic blank white interior sleeve from a later period. The untested vinyl appears to be in very good condition.
