Description
If you check Popsike you'll see a variety of copies, and a variety of stories, about this classic 2 LP set. It seems as if everyone who got this advance box set added to it, and this copy is no exception.
The story seems to be that it originally was available to the public ONLY in New York-New England area. From what I can tell, in addition to the two LP's the box contained a 8x10 inch glossy B&W photo and an insert letter from Capitol explaining - "...because of the unprecedented demand for this album, we are making it available to you now, before we can even finish the jacket."
This copy also contains magazine clippings, a copy of the June 1961 The Theater magazine, and three telegrams!
The telegrams were sent to the E.J.Korvette store ordering the "Monoral" version for $7.83!
Interestingly, 2 of the 3 other boxes listed on Popsike were also Mono, 2 contain the letter, 3 the photo and one other the The Theater magazine.
The box has two pieces of tape on one corner, otherwise it and the two records are in excellent condition, as is the letter, photo and magazine. The clipping have a verity of minor flaws.
