One of the more fascinating early Ritchie Valens releases.
“Arvee Allens” was the pseudonym used for Ritchie Valens on this Del-Fi 4111 pressing of “Fast Freight” backed with “Big Baby Blues.” Both sides carry the songwriter credit R. Valenzuela.
Released in January 1959, this is the early Arvee Allens label version. Later pressings changed the artist credit to Ritchie Valens. The single is also widely documented as the final 45 released during Valens’s lifetime, giving it a remarkable place in early rock-and-roll history.
