Description
Up for grabs is a 1959 pressing of The Dave Brubeck Quartet's "Time Out" on vinyl LP. This is an original Stereo version on the Columbia 6-Eye label. The cover is in VG+ condition. Someone wrote "B1" on the front cover and there is some wear on the bottom seam but otherwise it is in great shape for its age. The vinyl rates a VG for both visual and play grades. The vinyl is still very glossy but there are some hairlines and scuffs, and some of these do cause some surface noise and some ticks. On "Strange Meadow Lark" there is surface noise because for this particular song, there is very little accompaniment to the piano. "Take Five" is virtually flawless for playback..."Killer." There is a persistent tick for the first 30 seconds or so of "Three to Get Ready," otherwise Side 2 plays beautifully. Perhaps an ultra sonic cleaning may help remedy some of background noise. Nonetheless, the fidelity on this particular record is 10/10. They really knew what they were doing back then. If it wasn't for the issues described above for Side 1 Track 2, and Side 2 Track 1, the play grade would easily be VG+.
