Description

1958 Buddy Holly LP That'll Be The Day (DECCA DL 8707) Rare First Pressing. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Media Mail.

See detailed photos. I attempted to take these photos in the most unforgiving light conditions so that any flaws on the cover and vinyl would be visible. Please ask for additional photos if there are any details that seem to be missing. Please note that there is a 9.5 inch split in the top of the cover. Aside from that defect, all other aspects of the cover and vinyl seem to be in very good condition for a 63 year old album. I have listened thru the album on both sides: there were no skips and only light crackle as expected for a disc from this era.  There are light scratches on the vinyl from normal usage.

I do not feel qualified to grade records, but I will offer my opinion.  The vinyl LP appears and sounds like a solid VG+ based on this description that I read: "a few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle".  Perhaps a more generous grader would call the vinyl "Excellent", but I don't want to overstate anything.

The artwork/cover has very nice color appears to be VG based on the one edge having a split along with some other minor signs of wear and age: "an edge split, light visible scratches, and appears used".
