Description
This is from a top of the market collection, comprising of just early stereo rarities on Decca HMV, UK Columbia & RCA. First labels issues in Near Mint condition to 99% of them, all described in detail with plenty of pictures. Includes many items rarely seen on ebay.
1955 Josef KRIPS & the VPO Mozart: Don Giovanni complete opera. 4Lp Large Box London FFRR A 4406. Black & silver ffrr ear labels with outer pancake groove as called for on earliest issues. Outer case is very large, holding a proper readable libretto plus the standard outer box for the decca/London opera sets. The inner box has notes inside the shell, and a further insert with the ffrr opera listings discography to that date. Very few spindle marks to these labels, this one has not had a lot of turntable time, and sounds great. Stampers are mainly 2D. This 1955 set is rarely seen these days.
This set is Excellent with very few visual marks to any of the six sides, & on my moving coil played without faults, has clean labels, the outer box is excellent minus and the inner box is Near Mint, with a mint minus full size inch think libretto book made especially for this by Boosey & Hawkes.
