THE PLATTERS Federal 549 (about 1954-55) Original pressing. 12 songs on a 12" LP with black labels. Original record cover and pressing by King records, Cincinnati. One of the rarest of all R & B doo wop black vocal groups LPs. The record plays well with no skips. Some songs have a light hiss or static but not enough to detract from song. Heavy, thick, black vinyl. Looks perfectly flat but on the turntable there is a slight wobble but it doesn't affect the play. The black and silver print labels look good with no wear. The spindle hole has the least bit of wear. I give the record a VG minus. The cover is very clean with no soiling and no stains. There is a small sticker and paper peel on the back cover in the upper right corner. There is light wear around the edges of the cover. The back edge has a 3" slit. The top edge has a 2" slit and a 1/2" slit on its right corner. No slit on the bottom edge. The upper left corner shows light wear. I give the cover a VG. It's missing the original blank liner sleeve that came with the record.
