Original 1952 Lp 33 1/3 rpm records - 2 records, 4 sides, in 2 plain sleeves - as issued - featuring a LIVE recording of Kentucky historian William H. Townsend and his famous October 17, 1952 speech to the Chicago Illinois Civil War Round Table on THE LION OF WHITEHALL, CASSIUS MARCELLUS CLAY - one of Kentucky's legendary 19th century statesmen and politicians. The 2 albums - on the AMERICANA HOUSE label - are pressed onto clear red vinyl and are housed in plain sleeves although these 2 will come also in their original sales envelope (very worn) whereby they were sold upon issue by the Morris Book Shop in Lexington, Kentucky. This particular speech in Chicago resulted in the formation the following year of the Kentucky Civil War Round Table with Townsend as president. This talk also resulted in Townsend issuing a book on Clay under the same title he gave to his speech! The 2 matched records (with sides 1, 2, 3 & 4 - complete) have the look of having been pressed in very small quantities. I could not find these records anywhere else on ebay. some scratchiness and surface noise but quite playable and listenable. You might want to turn the treble down a bit and turn the bass up just a tad. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ (the fine print ...
