Description

Here's a remarkably rare 1937 programme for the Gaumont British Picture Corporation Carnival Ball, held at the Royal Albert Hall on March 12, 1937, uniquely signed by, among others, vocalist Al Bowlly, bandleader Billy Cotton and harmonica virtuoso Larry Adler! The programme is designed to look like a film canister, and the covers are printed on a metallic board, with a realsitic film canister labels pasted on. Inside there are many pictures, including two of Jessie Matthews (one advertising her new film 'Gangway'), Cicely Courtneidge, Lilli Palmer, Will Hay and Jack Hulbert. The autographs are all on one page in pencil and include two others I cannot decipher. It is 9.75" in diameter and total number of pages is 40 plus covers. CONDITION: Overall Very Good. Spine has split and been taped, leaving some of the pages very loose. Some creases and rubbing to front covers.
