Description

You are bidding on two 16-inch radio transcription discs containing two broadcasts of THE NANCY CRAIG SHOW as broadcast over WABC.  Nancy Craig was an interview and daytime talk show hostess.  (1) On the first program from 9/30/49 she comments about women's fashion for Fall 1949 and then interviews actress Gloria Swanson who talks about her own sense of fashion and what she prefers and then discusses her upcoming picture with William Holden, "Sunset Boulevard".  Swanson states her role as the most outstanding part she has ever had; mentions her unreleased silent picture "Queen Kelly", and saysthat scenes from it were used in "Sunset Boulevard".  Approximately 13 minutes with commercials/promos deleted.  (2) On the second program from 9/7/49, Craig interviews Mario Lanza and Kathryn Grayson about the soon to be released motion picture, "That Midnight Kiss" (1949) which would be Mario Lanza's first movie role.  Lanza discusses how and when he began singing, and his encounter with composer-conductor Serge Koussevitzky.  Craig then plays a recording of a song by Lanza from his new film. Approximately 15 minutes, complete with commercials/promos for the ABC quiz show "Ladies Be Seated" with Johnny Olsen; a forest fire prevention spot; and end promo for Ted Mack's "Original Amateur Hour".  The two discs are in excellent condition (although the typed labels have faded over time) with excellent audio.
