Description
About this Record. This is an original U.S. MONO copy of the 13th Floor Elevators Psychedelic Sounds of . . . LP. International Artists IA-LP-1. Guaranteed original mono copy. I have owned precisely 5 copies of this LP over the last 35 years, and this was my 4th nicest vinyl until I managed an upgrade recently. If you like garage/psych wild punk from 1967 or so, this is essential. And the MONO mix is much better in my view than the stereo.
The Cover. Good. Spine and bottom seam are split and taped. Noticeable ring wear, still not too bad, and presentable. Small writing on back cover in pen; stains on back cover.
The Vinyl. The vinyl looks EX and plays close to Near Mint EXCEPT there is a small scruzzy mark on "Fire Engine" that is NOT feelable, looks probably innocent, but ticks for about the first 10 seconds in the song Fire Engine (although it is not too distracting with all the other sirens and Roky Erickson wailing in the background!).
The Inner Sleeve. This comes with the original paper inner sleeve, which has a split in the bottom and a tape stain from the tape's removal; the sleeve has been folded on one corner which, when opened, looks very white, attesting to the 40+ year age of this cool LP.
The Labels. EX BUT small name on one side of label near spindle hole
About Me. LOOK at my feedback as a Seller! My only negative feedback was from an unscrupulous seller I purchased a record from. I am a record collector, not a dealer, and take this Personally and Seriously (see my feedback!). I sell/trade vinyl to focus my collection, including many $500 and up LPs (not worth my time or your time selling common stuff, of course). Coincidentally, I have two kids in college and sometimes consider selling stuff like this so I can buy more cool stuff. I have been collecting vinyl Seriously for 35 years (psych, garage, hard rock/punk, non-top 40/non-pop). I offer a full refund if you are not satisfied, and refund any excess postage (look at your package and contact me if it indicates you paid more than it says and I will refund you!).
On Apr-03-08 at 22:04:13 PDT, seller added the following information:Hi there; someone asked me if my copy of the Elevators Mono first LP was really my fourth vinyl copy over 35 years. Yes, it is. I'm not a dealer; just a collector. I did not add a picture of my current keeper vinyl and cover which I would never ever sell, but I did add a few pictures to show how much I like the LP and a certain song on it (you're gonna miss me). NO, THis auction is ONLY for the LP shown, not the six (6) 45s or poster I added some photos for fun . . . . to show I indeed have respect for Roky as you should too. This is one of the best LPs ever in the whole world in my humble opinion, along with Damon, Open Mind, Churchills, Freedom's Children Galactic Vibes, Erkin Koray, and the Four Levels of Existence. Check out the photos those of you who asked. Wright
