About This Record. SEE all My 12 Photos!!! This LP, stamped November 12, 1967 on the Demo sticker on the front cover is, precisely 44 years to the day when this auction ends, is an original super rare psychedelic masterpiece copy of the 13th Floor Elevators LP entitled "Easter Everywhere" in MONO white label promo wlp DJ format! This is a different mix than the stereo mix. Only 40 at most of these were pressed, each of the four I have seen weigh, like this copy, precisely 149 grams and has the "deep groove" type International Artists Records white label promo DJ label with the ridge inside the label well in advance of the spindle hole. There were also a few stock mono turquoise label Easter Everywhere LPs pressed that weigh more, about 164 grams. Lucky for you, I am keeping my stock copy and selling this, complete with original innersleeve. An originally noisey and hard to cure vintage vinyl masterpiece by the psychedelic greats featuring Roky Erickson and the Thirteenth Floor Elevators (a.k.a. 13th FLoor Elevators), the brilliant minds behind "you're gonna miss me" and lots of other songs. This is the best LP, and has always been hard to find and Mono copies rarely turn up. The mix is wildly different and better in most people's minds, although I'm not so sure. The few copies I have heard all appear to have background hisssss over miscellaneous parts of the LP not related to the visual condition, and seem to lack the excitement of the stereo pressings, but certainly worth a trip anyway! And who am I to know, especially since I am selling this! Anyway most folks say the vinyl has a mix that is more puchy and upfront but I leave you to be the judge of that. The guaranteed original first press vinyl is not so bad, but is not a Keeper Copy for most folks but I don't think there are any Keeper Copies of this LP without background noise as I have been looking for decades. The cover is the bad thing about this, but it is still kinda fundamentally intact. See photos and desription below.
READ my feedback and See my detailed photos of this! No Reserve! I offer full refund including shipping both ways (for USA buyers) in case for some wildly strange reason you might be unhappy with this purchase.
Watch for my other rare LPs, including garage psych stuff that I'll be selling that end on the same date as this one, or nearby, although I will be adding LPs uhat. ntil 3 days before auction end. Keep your eyes pealed!
Please note that I work for eBay and this link is to the Code I have to abide by as an eBay employee: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/everyone-employee.html I have no clue who works in the Collectibles Division and am not involved in any policy or other decisions that go on; I just happen to like vinyl and ppen to work at eBay
Vinyl Condition. VG+. Looks VG+ to EX-, but there is noticeable background noise on 1/2 /more of the vinyl, as on most known copies. There are some noticeable light stylus marks, paper marks, and a few other marks, but no major problems. Some of this plays EX, but 1/2 more plays VG because of the background noise, so I come out at VG+; the person I just bought this vinyl from graded the vinyl as EX- to EX but I am more conservative, my equipment is unforgiving (see my Rockport Sirius Turntable coming up for sale) and I could detect the usual background hiss and think the visual grading is less as well. No sticks, skips, jumps, etc.Just that darn background noise on most songs.
Cover Condition of LP. The cover is in only Good condition. So . . . SEE Photos! They translate well and are easy to understand if you have questions. While the spine and seams are amazingly and inexplicably intact (i.e., when you hold the LP up to the light, and gently look inside the cover where the vinyl goes in, there are no leaks of light indicating tears in the cover or spine). There appear to be one inch splits in the top seam and bottom seam, but not yet but they are ready to happen as the cover slick has been stripped off. Importantly, there is tons of wear on the spine and seams, an awesome cool promo Demonstration Record sticker on the front cover from Music City date-stamped November 12, 1967, precisely 44 years before this auction ends! And a small 97 cent stamp on the sticker as well as the November 12, 1 967 stamp. Oh yes, there is also the usual ring wear and BURN found on the original "gold flake" cover, especially at the middle bottom of the cover, medium corner ding lower right hand corner of front cover, corner burns on other corners less severe, what looks like an old and deep (takes off the gold flake from front LP cover) price sticker tear on the front cover between the "V" and "E" in "Easter Everywhere" The back cover reveals water damage, and tearing of the back cover slick at top seam and bottom seam, although the distinctive "Mono" designation on back cover is intact.
Innsersleeve. YES, this does come with the super rare two-sided black & white (now brown & white!) paper innersleeve with lyrics. Not a bad inner, as it is very very flat. I never even knew it was inside this cover until I just bought a different copy of this LP because I wanted to upgrade this cover for the other. While this innersleeve presents well, the photos show the tears on the seam; one seam is split on the inner, and there is a tear in the middle of the "spine" of the inner about two inches. Other spine intact. Lots of age marks as appear on every one of these inner sleeves that survive!
The vinyl has been carefully cleaned on my VPI Record Cleaning Machine and placed in a new rice paper sleeve or equivalent.
LP labels. EX-; just some spindle marks and bubbling of label around spindle hole. No writing or price stickers or removal marks or residue etc; amazing relatively unscathed labels! Please see Photos and zoom in for details!
About Me. I have been a Record Collector for over 35 years. I bought this many years ago during my travels and have kept in well preserved. This comes cleaned on my VPI record cleaning machine.
