MY GRADING SCALE:

NM (Near Mint) - Like new, may have some very minor blemishes

VG++ - Almost NM, but will have just a few more blemishes, a very few minor scuffs, I will note any blemishes on label (I get rather squeamish when about to call a record NM, sometimes I don't and just call it a VG++ instead. So sometimes the record received may be considered NM}

VG+ - More blemishes/light scuffs/surface wear, etc than VG++ grade but not as much wear as a VG grade, I will note any blemishes on label

VG - A well played record, but not overly played, may have several or even quite a few surface scuffs/scratches but most of these should be fairly light and the record will have some noise but should be quite enjoyable, could have a light warp that does not affect play (this will be noted), label may have writing, "sticker lift" tears, etc

G+ - A record that was enjoyed and played a lot, will have more wear than a VG grade, will play through with NO skips, could have a light warp that does not affect play (this will be noted), might be fairly noisy but should still bring joy and a smile to the listener, label may have writing, "sticker lift" tears, etc

G - Same as above with more wear and noise, has not been lovingly cared for, will probably be NOISY so expect any or all of the following; hissing, crackling, ticks, pops, and other assorted "scary" sounds, might still be enjoyed, depending on how persnickety/desperate the listener is, label may have writing, "sticker lift" tears, etc (actually I've seen some really rough records that sounded amazingly great, considering all the scuffs and scratches)

POOR/FAIR - Will have a tremendous amount of wear, may or may not be cracked, may or may not play, may or may not even resemble what it once was "a record" :) and would probably only do as a filler or perhaps it may be a rare item someone would want in this condition ..... or perhaps someone would like to make one of those cute chip dip holders out of it. I will only list a record in this condition if it is scarce or rare.

**** NOTE there could be and probably will be a certain amount of surface sound/noise no matter the condition, at least that has been my experience from listening to a lot of records. **** Sometimes you will notice I say "and better/or better" after a grade. In that case I think it is leaning towards or could be the next grade up but will let the owner decide.
