Description
This record was found in an estate with many 78 RPM in the Jazz genre, big band, bop, and similar styles. This one was found in a 12" binder. Blue Note 8, with the "YBW" - Yellow Blue White - label, and the 10 W. 47th St. NYC address on the label. It is Blue Note 8, and Side B is The Blues Part 2. First released in 1939, this is a 1940 Repress. THE SHELLAC IS VERY CLEAN AND LOOKS QUITE PLAYABLE. There are only a few very faint scratches, unfeelable, over both sides, with the large majority of the surface being clean shellac with visible grooves. I will visually grade this as NM, recognizing this is an 80+ year shellac and I grade these differently than vinyl LPs. With a similar surface in vinyl (clear grooves seen but a few very light scratches seen), I would be more conservative and grade it VG++ or in the range of VG++ to NM.
