Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   CANADA ~ 1 LP 8.50; 2 discs $10.00; 3 discs $11.50; over 4 please contact us for shipping costs.   AUSTRALIA, THAILAND, JAPAN ~ 1 LP $18.00; 2 discs $23.00; 3 discs $27.00; 4 discs $32.00. STAMPED MATERIX LABLES 1/1

The very first MOODY BLUES...completely different to their symphonic progressive records -- this was when they were rising stars in the UK Mersey/Beatrock Invasion...including their smash hit "GO NOW" ...released simultaneously, sort of, in the U.K. as THE MAGNIFICENT MOODIES) before the Hayward/Lodge contingent stepped in, and a starkly different British Invasion that would be forever lost upon the conception of DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED.

The pre-psychedelic Moody Blues were represented in England by this album, which is steeped in American R&B come 'beat rock' (Englands garage term). The strong covers include songs by James Brown and Willie Dixon, plus the timeless international smash "Go Now" ... interspersed with a brace of originals by lead singer/guitarist Denny Laine and keyboardist Mike Pinder, and one Jeff Barry number, "I've Got a Dream." The shouters, like "I'll Go Crazy" and "Bye Bye Bird," will be the big surprises, showcasing the rawest sound by the group, but "I've Got a Dream" shows a lyrical, harmony-based sound, while "It Ain't Necessarily So" offers them doing a smooth, shakin' number with incredibly catchy hooks -- and the atmospheric "From The Bottom Of My Heart", which fades the album out on Laine exorcising some musical demons in a way which makes you wish he'd stuck around through the band's upcoming weird period.  The group's sound is good and loud, and Laine is a phenomenal singer, though the band lacked the charisma and built-in excitement of such rivals as the Rolling Stones and the Animals.

Ironically and unfortunately, 2 of the 4 tracks above didn't appear on the original U.K. release "Magnificent Moodies." In other words: Buy American.

You'll never hear the MOODY BLUES like this before -- in their raw shakin' beatrocker beginnings!!
