Description
This is a super rare item by Raymond Lefevre : a 4 LPs box set issued in France in the early or mid 60s (no date printed) and compiling the first 4 volumes of his serie called PALMARES DES CHANSONS (that was back then the name of a very famous French TV show). The box is titled 48 GRANDS SUCCES and was issued by RIVIERA (LPS references : 521011, 521007, 521027, 521035). The outer box is a nice object made with VERY strong & heavy cardboard. Each LP is wrapped into an inner sleeve on which the titles of the tracks are printed. This deluxe set was a very limited 60s edition that has now completely vanished and it is almost impossible nowdays to find a decent copy. About the music, nothing there is unreleased but as even the ordinary 4 lps included in the box are becoming individually very tough to find, this maybe a good opportunity for completing your collection of the PALMARES DES CHANSONS serie The records are VG (a lot of light marks show evidence the LPs have been played quite often. Some surface noises are heard but the playing is still pleasant with no major damage except at the start of side 2 of record 3 where the is a skip because of a deep mark). The outer box is M- (light age wear at edges) and the inner sleeves are VG due to some pale stains, probably caused by a bit of humidity through the years. No tears, no writing.
